Course content
The course covers theories which explain how media and communication relate to social life and society. It presents perspectives on media development and on the relationship between mass media and network media. As part of the course the students must have an oral presentation which critically analyze theories, methods and results in media- and communcationresearch.
Learning outcome
The aim of the course is to give the students insight in theories related to media and communication and the possibility to critically evaluate these theories.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and seminars equivalent to 2 hours a week, includes supervision in groups and individually. Compulsory activity: Oral presentation. Form of assessment: 4 hours written exam
