About the course

Course content

The content of the course will vary. It may be given as an overview course, covering several statistical techniques, or it may be concentrated on one technique, such as multilevel analysis, structural equation models and analyses of panel data. The term paper should be a paper on a subject from the lectures and may have a length of 15-20 pages, or 5600-7500 words.

Learning outcome

The purpose of the course is to give the student insight and understanding of one or more techniques of advanced statistical data analysis.

Learning methods and activities

Intensive lectures and seminars, normally 1-2 weeks in the end of the semester.
Compulsory activity: Obligatory assignments and participation in lectures.
Form of assessment: Individual term paper and oral examination. The oral exam may be used to adjust the grade by one unit on the scale. The oral exam will include the research paper, the individually selected readings and the required readings. The course is offered only if available teaching resources.
