About the course

Course content

The content of the course will vary. It may given as an overview course, covering several statistics techniques, or it may be concentrated to one techniques, such as multilevel analysis, structural equations models and analyses of panel data. The term paper should be an independent treatment of a theme from the lectures and may have a length of 15-20 pages, or 5600-7500 words.

Learning outcome

The purpose of the course is to give the student insight and understanding of one or more techniques of advanced statisticsl data analysis.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and seminars intensive, normally in 1-2 weeks in the end of the semester. Compulsory activity: Obligatory assignments and participation in lectures. Form of assessment: Paper. The course is offered if available teaching resources.
If 6 or fewer students sign up for a planned course during the first 2 teaching weeks, the course will be offered as an instructed reading course.

Required previous knowledge

Master's degree in Sociology/Political Science or equivalent
