Course content
The course gives an introduction to Spanish grammar with emphasis on theoretical issues as well as practical use of the language.
Learning outcome
The students should acquire a theoretical knowledge of Spanish grammar that serves as a basis for the correct use of written and spoken Spanish. They should be able to understand and explain central grammatical notions in Spanish, and be familiar with the main differences between Norwegian and Spanish. The students should get a general view of Spanish morphology and a short introduction to phonology, phonetics and syntax.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions. The students are expected to participate in conversation exercises in pairs and in groups. A good progression depends on the students' degree of participation in lectures and group sessions.
Compulsory assignments
- 1 oral presentation approx. 5 min.
- 4 written assignment à 1 page

Recommended previous knowledge
The course is taught in Spanish and the exam must be answered in Spanish. We recommend proficiency in Spanish equivalent to Spanish level II from Upper Secondary School. Students who do not have this proficiency are recommended to take SPA0501 and SPA0502 before taking this course.
Required previous knowledge
Requires admission to the one-year programme in Spanish or the bachelor's programme in European Studies and Foreign Languages (Spanish).
