About the course
Course content
About 90% of the world's Spanish-speaking population lives outside Spain, mainly in Latin America and the US. This course gives an introduction to history, society and culture in the Spanish-speaking world, with a main focus on Latin America.
Learning outcome
The course provides students with a broad perspective on the Spanish-speaking world and the historic premises that underlies it. By working with the various topics that make up the course the students should also develop their oral and written proficiency in Spanish.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions. Students must participate actively in group sessions, and also to a certain degree in lectures. The lecturer may opt for a multimedia file for the obligatory assignment. Information regarding this will be available at the beginning of the semester. The course is taught in Spanish.

The course is taught in Spanish. We recommend proficiency in Spanish equivalent to 2-3 years of formal instruction.
