About the course
Course content
Main topics are Planning (rigg planning, scheduling etc.), Production technique (in-situ concrete vs. concrete elements), Economy (costs of building larger buildings, recource usage, capasity and costs) and HES at building sites. The course will mainly relate to construction with concrete (office and industrial buildings, bridges, etc.).
Learning outcome
The course shall provide basic knowledge about current methods for planning, estimation and construction of buildings and larger structures.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, mainly by people from the industry. Portfolio assessment is the basis for the grade in the course. The portfolio includes a final written exam (50%) and exercises (50%). The results for the parts are given in %-scores, while the entire portfolio is assigned a letter grade. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
