About the course

Course content

This course gives an introduction to Project Management and Construction Engineering. Topics covered are: framework conditions for Building and Construction Projects, Organization of planning, design and production(parties, roles, responsibilities, contract strategies). Economy in the planning process (budget, profitability analysis, specification texts, tendering). Building process (phases and subprocesses, including public processes). HES and Environmental Control.

Learning outcome

To give the students an overall understanding of organizational and economical issues within a building process, and external conditions, tools and responsibility in the process.

Learning methods and activities

Written exam 50 %, evaluation of work done in groups 50 %. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
