Course content
Main topics are: Construction Engineering, subsurface operations, Construction Engineering, surface operations, Production Technology for Building and Construction and Productivity.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
To convey in-depth knowledge, both theoretical and practical, in a limited field within construction engineering and building production, e.g. planning and construction of underground spaces or measurement and analysis of productivity within the building and construction sector.
Skills:
The student may use relevant software related to the focus area, e.g. blast design for underground space, prepare and analyse construction schedules, estimate construction costs for a project.
General competence:
The student may perform an analysis of alternatives in a building or construction project.
The student may use scientific litterature by which she may update herself about the relevant research front.
Learning methods and activities
The teaching in may be given as lectures, seminars, laboratory teaching or supervised self study. Exercises and term report. Portfolio assessment is the basis for the grade in the course. The portfolio includes an oral exam (50%) and exercises (50%). The results for the parts are given in %-scores, while the entire portfolio is assigned a letter grade.
