About the course

Course content

This course comprises advanced subjects within building physics and material technology.
Basic principles and methods for numerical simulation in building physics. Practical use of simulation programs.
Climatic stresses on building materials and assemblies. Degradation and ageing of important building materials. Methods for characterizing durability and service life in practice.
Topics from recent research in building physics and material science will be included.

Learning outcome

Convey in-depth knowledge on simulation in building physics and on durability and service life of building materials.

Learning methods and activities

The teaching will be given as lectures and seminars. An individual study report is mandatory, and this has to be approved before access to the exam.
