New from the academic year 2010/2011
About
About the course
Course content
The course comprises some advanced topics regarding fire technology and fire safety of buildings and construction works. It presents the principles of analysis, engineering and construction of works with various requirements of fire safety, e.g. as verified by use of risk analysis. It will be shown how a required safety level can be achieved by various measures - active/passive and single/in combination. The course will give good knowledge about fire properties of materials, fire resistance of components and structures, and an introduction to the principles and application of calculation methods and simulation tools. Through the course, the students will get a knowledge base for the exercise of fire safety engineering.
Learning outcome
Give in-depth knowledge on principles, methods and tools for documentation of fulfilling requirements regarding fire safety of buildings and construction works through fire safety engineering.
