About the course

Course content

The course will focus on the basic principles of highway design, geometric design, cross-section design, subgrade, pavement design, road construction materials, pavements, climatic factors and visual environment and environmental consequences.

Learning outcome

Give a basic knowledge of the principles of highway design and engineering, geometric and structural design, construction and environmental problems. After fullfilled course the students will be able to localize and design a road.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, exercises and laboratory. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
