About the course
Course content
The course will focus on alignment, track geometry, superstructure and substructure, switches, track plans and capacity, interaction between rolling stock and track, electrotechnical installations (power supply and signalling control system) together with operation and maintenance of railway.
Learning outcome
Give a basic knowledge of the principles of railway engineering, emphasized alignment, construction of the superstructure and the substructure, electrotechnical installations plus operation and maintenance of railway.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and exercises. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
