Course content

Advanced themes and methods within geomatics are discussed and applied. The content will to some extent be adopted to current issues and research within Section of Geomatics at NTNU. The students shall in this course apply their data and IT knowledge on specified themes related to geomatics.

Learning outcome

Knowledge
The candidate should have knowledge of
- how problems within Geomatics can be solved by the use of Computing Science.

Skills
The candidate is able to
- based on problems within Geomatics make a computer application which solves the problem in a good way
- systematize and make a Geomatics-related application based on known methods from his/her education in Computing Science
- test and ensure the quality of the application
- make orderly documentations of the application.

General competence
The candidate can
- combine knowledge from Computing Science with knowledge from a user-oriented field.

Learning methods and activities

The course is taught as a self study, where an assignment within programming is the main part of the activities in the course. The activities are given in English when students not understanding Norwegian are attending the course.

Compendia, selected reports and scientific papers. Will be stated at the beginning od the semester.
