About the course

Course content

Basics of transport economics and Cost/benefit analysis of transport infrastructure investments. Monetized impacts and assessment of effects. Estimation of costs under uncertainty. The relationship between construction, maintenance and operation costs. Estimating infrastructure capital. Optimization and Life cycle costs, LCC. Value Engineering.

Learning outcome

The course gives basic knowledge of topics in transport economics and their application in the transport infrastructure sector. Furthermore gives an overview of methodes for cost estimastion under uncertainty, asset management, life cycle cost analysis (LCC) and quality assuranse by Value Engineering. The exercises will support the students to be able to use the methods in practicle application.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, excursions and exercises. The lectures will be given in Norwegian. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
