About the course
Course content
The course gives:
1. A general introduction to information technology: architecture and operation of a computer, operating systems, communication and networks, IT and laws, information theory and quality of service, databases, software engineering.
2. A brief introduction to HTML an CSS.
3. An introduction to program analysis, problem formulation, algorithms, software and programming. Matlab is used to give practical training in procedural programming.
The students are given practical experience through solving obligatory exercises.
Learning outcome
The students will get a general insight into information technology and develop knowledge, practical experience and attitude in using information technological methods in an engineers working situation. The students will learn basic procedural programming skills and HTML.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, exercise lectures and obligatory exercises. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may change from written to oral.
