About the course

Course content

Software systems quality. Customer and user perspective on software quality. ISO 9000, CMM, data based process improvement. How the development process influences product quality. Trends in process improvement for software development. Techniques and methods from TQM.

Learning outcome

The course will give an introduction to software quality and modern methods for achieving quality through quality assurance and process improvemnt.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and team excercises. Case studies. The evaluation will be based on a team excercise (30%) and a final exam (70%). If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may change from written to oral.
