About the course
Course content
The specialization topic consists of a course of 7,5 study points or two courses of 3,75 study points. The topic will focus on analyses, design and operation of thermal components and systems. Of importance is development and implementation of new technology for thermal processes onshore and offshore. Topics related to safety, economy, environment, operation, maintenance and legislation are included. National and international challenges related to thermal energy conservation and utilisation is highlighted. The topic will be closely linked to the ongoing research activities.

Learning outcome
Discussing and solving scientific and technical problems as well as formal reporting on achieved results within analyses, design and operation of thermal components and systems.
Learning methods and activities
The lectures and exercises are in English when students who do not speak Norwegian take the course. Postponed exam is held within the end of the exam period.
Recommended previous knowledge
Basic knowledge in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
