About

About the course

Course content

The topic are connected to Engineering Fluid Mechanics, Specialization project.
It will contain the following parts:
-CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics.
-Depth study in classic fluid mechanics, covering topics from aero dynamics, turbulence and transient flow in gas pipes.
- Hydraulic Machinery covers turbines, pumps and hydraulic systems. Fluid power, components as well as systems is also included.
- Experimenting and analyzing wind conditions, both in model and full scale, relewant for wind power development.
- Problems connected to multiface transport of gas-liquid in pipes. Keywords are: Multiphace pumping, multiphace flow, transients, gas hydrates etc.

Learning outcome

The course gives a deeper understanding in problems which are relevant for the in-depth study in the fluid mechanics. Fluid mechanics are a broad dicipline, from classical fluid mechanics to application in hydraulic machinery and systems.

Learning methods and activities

The teaching will be given in lectures, possible compulsary exercises, seminars or self-tuition. The lectures and exercises are in English when students who do not speak Norwegian take the course. Delayed theory exam will be held at the end of the exam period. The topics will be taught either together or separated into some different modules.
