About the course

Course content

Radiometric notions and units, the human eye and radiation, photometric notions and units, the photometric laws, the eye and factors for sight, energy converting to light, colour, luminaires, quality criteria, lighting calculations, lighting systems, road and tunnel lighting. Daylighting : Source, calculation, effects.

Learning outcome

The course will give an introduction to the physical and physiological basis for light and lighting, to photometric notions and laws, and to the basis for planning of lighting systems and practical uses og light indoors and outdoors.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, exercises and laboratory work. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may change from written to oral.
