Electric Circuits
About
About the course
Course content
Ohms law, Kirchhoff's laws, super position, Thevenin and Norton equivalents, capacitance, inductance, 1st order RC and RL circuits. Semiconductor devices, such as diodes and MOSFET transistors. Compulsory laboratory assignments for hands-on practical training to become familiar with devices and instruments.
Learning outcome
To give the students a base for understanding, analyzing and designing electrical and electronic circuits. Through laboratory assignments, acquire practical skills using instruments to perform measurements on such circuits.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, compulsory exercieses and laboratory assignments. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral. Portfolio assessment is the basis for the grade awarded in the course. This portfolio comprises a written final examination 80% and the mid-term examination 20%. The results for the constituent parts are to be given in %-points, while the grade for the whole portfolio (course grade) is given by the letter grading system. The mid-term examination only counts if it has a positive effect on the total assessment. Retake of examination may be given as an oral examination.
