Course content
Mechanics: Oscillations and waves: Harmonic oscillator, resonance, mechanical waves. Electromagnetism: Electrostatics, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, DC- and AC-circuits. Optics: Light, geometrical optics, interference, diffraction.
Learning outcome
The course shall give the students insight into everyday physical phenomena and enable them to make simple calculations based on that insight.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and written problems. Compulsory written problems and compulsory laboratory exercises. The final written exam counts 80% and the mid-term exam counts 20% for the grade of the course, which is given as A-E. A re-sit examination may be changed from written to oral.

TMA4100 Calculus 1 and TMA4105 Calculus 2 or similar knowledge.
