Course content
Classification of sedimentary basins according to tectonic environment. Formation mechanisms of different basin types and controlling factors of sedimentary filling. Methods of evaluating the subsidence and thermal history of basins.
Learning outcome
To give an overview of the formation and development of sedimentary basins.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, exercises. If there is a re-sit examinaton, the examination form may be changed from written to oral. Lectures are held in English if international master students attend.
