Course - Organic Synthesis, Laboratory - TKJ4130
Organic Synthesis, Laboratory
About
About the course
Course content
Training in laboratory techniques in modern Organic Synthesis. A number of syntheses including multiple step syntheses are carried out. New organic reactions and reagents are applied. Products are analysed by instrumental techniques. In the end of the course there will be a project work in different research groups at the department.
Learning outcome
To give an introduction to practical modern laboratory techniques.
Learning methods and activities
Laboratory (160 hours). Literature task : An introduction course in literature search will be given. The students then look for different synthetic methods for a given compound. The choice of the synthesis depends on availability and prices of the starting compounds, on safety and time. The compound will finally be synthesized in an appropriate scale. English teaching by request.
