About the course

Course content

Calculation and design of slabs, column-supported flat-slabs, foundations and shells. Compression-field theory for panels, plates and shells. Iteration method for strength analysis of concrete shells. Thin-shell theory for axisymmetric cylinder- and spherical shells.

Learning outcome

The topic shall give an extension of the theoretical basis for various kinds of reinforced concrete structures.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and exercises. The lectures and exercises are in English when students who do not speak Norwegian take the course. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
