About the course

Course content

The course specializes within selected topics from Concrete Technology 1: fresh and young concrete, as well as porestructure and service life, and also treats durability, maintenance and repair of concrete structures. Mechanical, physical, chemical and electrochemical deterioration mechanisms. Planning and execution of structural assessment. Test loads. Evaluation of the need for maintenance and repair. Service life evaluation. Maintenance- and repair- materials and methods. Strengthening. Quality control of repair works

Learning outcome

The course shall give the students theoretical and practical knowledge about fresh- and young concrete, pore structure and service life, as well as maintenance and repair of concrete structures.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, seminars, group works and exercises. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral. The lectures and exercises are in english when students who do not speak Norwegian follow the course. In case of continuation exams, these will be arranged before the end of the same exam period.
