About the course

Course content

The course gives a motivation and a basic knowledge about the most effective and commonly used ICT-tools in leading industrial companies. The students also get hands-on experience with some of these software tools. This experience will be very useful in other courses later in the study.

Learning outcome

The objective is to motivate and teach students how to speed up the product development process by efficient use of modelling, simulation and visualization software tools.

Learning methods and activities

The course gives a theoretical introduction and training in various ICT/CAE software tools. The training is partly given by invited speakers from the industry which actively use CAE tools in their product development. The students must perform practical exercises and one product development project based on the CAE software tools. The project and exercises account for 50% of the grade in the class. The technostart project is also integrated in the course.
The cource will also contain some programming.
