About the course

Course content

One or two of the following specialisation courses of 3,75 stp are to be chosen:
TMM4 Analysis of Metal Forming Processes (Professor Torgeir Welo).
TMM5 Joining Technology (Professor Odd Magne Akselsen).
TMM15 FEM-simulation of Metal Forming (Professor Henry Valberg).
TMM16 Casting Technology (Professor II Morten Andre Langøy).
The specialisation courses will be related to central research and development issues within the area of manufacturing by metal forming, casting and welding in Norwegian industry. The other specialisation course of 3.75 stp. can be chosen among other specialization courses given at the department. Before the second choice is made the students should discuss with the professor in order to find a course relevant to the students project work.

Learning outcome

The specialisation course will provide an in-depth study of manufacturing technology relevant in relation to the students project work.

Learning methods and activities

The course is given as a guided self study where the students should read a given syllabus and discuss it with the professor. The lectures and exercises are in English when students who do not speak Norwegian take the course. Re-sit exam will be arranged before the end of the exams period. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
