About the course
Course content
Introduction to Fortran 90, C and program development based on a procedural approach (specification, design, coding, testing and documentation). The bulk of the course is concerned with a programming project dealing with a computational task and visualizations. The project results in a final program with documentation.
Learning outcome
The aim is to provide the student with practical (hands on) experience with Fortran 90 and C, in connection with a small, but comprehensive and typical engineering programming project.
Learning methods and activities
The first part of the course will consist of consentrated lecturing - Fortran 90, C and develpoment of computationally demanding software. The remaining part will consist of a practical programming project.
Recommended previous knowledge
