About the course
Course content
Through design projects the students are exposed to the design process where products are developed for different series sizes.
Basic consepts in esthetics are reviewed. Sketching, presentation and modelbuilding are trained, related to different phases of the design process.
Learning outcome
The course gives students an understanding of materials, and production processes influence on esthetics and function. The course trains skills in product design with a focus on materials and production processes opportunities and limitations.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, project work, assignments, model making and excursions to local manufacturing industries. Individual tutoring. A verbal presentation of the results is included in the project assignments.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Industriell design (MTDESIG)
Recommended previous knowledge
Requires TPD4100 Product Design 1. Limited to students of the Industrial Design Engineering program.
