About the course
Course content
A project where students design and prototype a mechatronic system is central in the course. A number of lectures is given on the following topics. Mehcatronics and it´s relevance in products. Development of technical system concepts. Electronics, control systems (PLC), hydraulics and pneumatics.
Learning outcome
To provide the students with the fundamentals of mechatronic technology and its use in products.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, exercises, project and an oral presentation of the result.
Initial execises(5): electric motors, electronics, pnematics and PLC-programming are obligatory. The main project consists of individual assignments and group assignments.

Recommended previous knowledge
TPD4120 Product Design 4. The course is limited to students in Industrial Design Engineering program.
