About the course
Course content
An introduction to central concepts, goals and background for human machine interaction and ergonomics. Theoretical issues in cognitive ergonomics and classical ergonomics. Methods and theory for analysis, design and evaluation in a user centered design process will be discussed in depth in connection to basic principles of cognition and anthropometrics. Lectures and Textbooks in Norwegian only
Learning outcome
Give an understanding of the use of knowledge about human physical and cognitive functioning in a user centered design process. Also introduce Scientific writing and search.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and exercises. Students will do a use analysis and user test on a design project (usually PD4 Form and Function). The work will be reported in a scientific paper which counts 100% for the final grade. The workshop will be used for building test materials.

Recommended previous knowledge
TPD4115 Product design 3 (see course description for 2009/10) or similar background. Limited to 30 students.
