About the course

Course content

The course will focus on the commercial aspects of the product development process, in particular when related to the communication between companies and customers. Focal topics are consumer behaviour, market position, branding and marketing strategy, and product communication retailing and logistics.
Exercises focus on the translation of market and consumer research into product and packaging design. Through exercises, students should become familiar with topics such as carrying out customer and market research, sales budgeting, writing a marketing plan, packaging design, various retail concepts and relevant feedback loops into the design process.

Learning outcome

To provide basic knowledge in communication theory and corporate communication, branding and marketing, sales and after-sales, packaging design, exploiting customer and market research, and to know how to apply this in the product development process.
