About

About the course

Course content

This course is offered as a follow-up on TPD4505 Design Theory, Spezialization Course, and cannot be chosen separately. The course offers students to specialize in a particular aspect of Integrated Product Design. The course builds on the theoretical insights acquired during the writing of a scientific article for TPD4505, and offers the student the possibilities to develop theoretic insights into a practical project, which could for example be a conceptual design, a prototype, a strategy, a manual or methodology relevant for the chosen specialization.
After completion of the practical project, students are required to revise their scientific article written for TPD4500 and update it with scientific insights from the development project.
All results must be fully open for publication. The articles will be published in the annual Article Collection PD-9, published by the department.

Learning outcome

The subject shall provide the students with a practical/theoretical specialization related to product design, and then apply or further develop the theory in a project.

Learning methods and activities

Theoretical or practical specialization project, based upon study of design theory. Updating of the scientific article from TPD4505.
