Course - Reservoir Property Determination by Core Analysis and Well Testing - TPG4115
Reservoir Property Determination by Core Analysis and Well Testing
About
About the course
Course content
Core analysis: Permeability and porosity. Capillary pressure. Laboratory measurements. Upscaling by use of average valves, Leverett's J-curve and correlations. Relative permeability. Two phase flow.
Well testing: Pressure drawdown and buildup tests for oil and gas wells. Two-rate testing. The average reservoir pressure. Interference testing. Type curves. The pressure derivative.
Learning outcome
The participants shall learn the basic theory and methodology to establish the reservoir properties by well testing and core analysis. Learn how to apply theory to well test interpretation and reservoir computations. Learn laboratory techniques.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, exercises and laboratory exercises. The exam can be changed from written to oral at the postponed exams (continuation exam). Lectures are held in English if international master students take the course.
Compulsory assignments
- Exercises
Recommended previous knowledge
