About the course
Course content
Process systems for oil and gas, health and safety, flow in pipes, pumps and pumping, gas compression, heat transfer and heat exchangers, separators for gas/oil and oil/water, gas hydrates, drying of gas, instrumentation, process simulation.
Learning outcome
The course shall give direct knowledge about technologies and engineering aspects that are used in offshore and land-based processing of petroleum. The students shall be able to evaluate and calculate how oil, gas and water from production wells affect the design and operation of equipment and processes.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and weekly exercises. Exercises count for 30% of the final grade. The exam can be changed from written to oral at the postponed exams (continuation exam).
