Specialization in Sub Surface Management
About
About the course
Course content
Review of the phenomena governing the production of oil and gas fields. Review of the working processes of the subsurface disciplines and the needs for integrating and cross deiscipline information in field design and operations. Review and analysis several field cases from new and mature fields. In depth discussions of several selected issues. These will be announced at the beginning of the semester.
Learning outcome
To establish capabilities to integrate relevant from several subsurface disciplines to design and plan the deveopment and operations of oil and gas fields. It emphasizes the merits of integratin and synthesizing engineering knowledge of: geology, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering, production engineering, well technology and drilling.
Learning methods and activities
The learning is based on lectures, class exercises, group and individual exercises, and individual or small group project assignments.
Compulsory assignments
- Exercises
