Course - Advanced Information and Communication Theory - TT8101
Advanced Information and Communication Theory
About
About the course
Course content
The course is taught every second year, next time spring 2011. A thorough introduction is given to both classical and modern topics in advanced information and communication theory. The selection of topics may vary somewhat from year to year and with the interests of the participants. Among applications the course will usually highlight multiuser information theory and MIMO information theory for wireless communication systems. Capacity analysis and optimality criteria for system design are central notions.
Learning outcome
To obtain an in-depth understanding of the most important information and communication theoretic concepts, models, theorems, and methods, including interpretation of, relations between, mathematical treatment of, and applications of these. Special emphasis is put on design and analysis of methods for signal compression, error control, and information transmission in telecommunication systems and networks.
