About the course

Course content

The course is taught biannually, next in the fall term 2011. The course treats advanced problems and methods for modern speech technology (speech recognition, speech synthesis, spoken dialogue systems). The following topics are included: Methods for short time speech analysis, statistical methods for acoustic modelling and language modelling, decision trees, search methods, finite state automatons, confidence measures and utterance verification, speech synthesis with focus on unit selection synthesis.

The course shall provide a basis for understanding and developing modern methods and systems for speech technology
