About the course
Course content
The course covers: Architecture and principles for traditional network management (e.g. SNMP, TMN), architecture and principles for WEB-based network management (e.g. CIM, MOF, CIM-XML, WBEM, and concepts and architectures for adaptive and autonomic communication.
Learning outcome
The course shall provide knowledge of principles and architectures for the technical systems used as a basis for the management of network resources and networked services. (i.e. installation, deployment, adaptation, operation and removal/de-installation).
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, assignments and a practical project. The grading is based on the final exam only. The project is compulsory and must be approved for the student to be allowed to take the final exam. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
