About

About the course

Course content

This course is on passive components for microwave and high-speed electronics. The theory of microwaves and high-speed phenomena is given for transmission lines- waveguides, microstrip lines, slotlines, coplanar waveguides, etc . An essential part of this course is for basic discontinuities of transmission lines, integrated and lumped capacitors, inductors, resistors and based on them more complicated devices like filters, directional couplers, power dividers, etc. It is given basic knowledge on the contemporary integrated technologies and CAD of integrated microwave and high-speed circuits.

Learning outcome

The goal of this course is to give the students a basic knowledge on microwave and high-speed components which are important parts of contemporary electronics of the increased frequency and high-speed.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and exercises. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral. The lecture is held in English.
