About the course

Course content

Technology for converting electromagnetic waves to acoustic and acoustic waves to electromagnetic (loudspeakers and microphones), computer assisted sound generation (virtual sound sources). The applications comprise. Acoustic waves for communication and remote sensing in marine environments. Sound as an environmental factor- noise abatement. Audio technology and subjective perseption of sound. The students shall choose two elective themes of 3.75 SP each. Possible themes:
TTT03 Acoustic remote sensing.
TTT11 Music and sensation.
TTT01 3-D sound and sound in multimedia applications.
TTT12 Numerical acoustics: selected topics.
TTT17 Effects of sound.
TBA14 Building acoustics: sound insulation.
TBA15 Building acoustics: room acoustics.

Learning methods and activities

In case of continuation exams, these will be arranged before the end of the same exam period. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
