About the course

Course content

The hydrological cycle. Cimate. Hydrological processes, precipitation, infiltration, evaporation, groundwater and runoff. Theory for runoff generation. Water in saturated and unsaturated zone. Snowhydrology. Ice on lakes and in rivers. Measurement and calculation of hydrological processes. Numerical models. Floods. Urban hydrology. Hydrological prognosis.

Learning outcome

Provide a basic understanding of hydrological catchment processes in natural and urban areas. Develop skills in analysis, measurements and computations.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, exercises and field work. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
