Extended discussion on reservoir sedimentation, planning and design of headworks for run-of-river hydropower plants, sediment handling techniques, sediment sampling and analysis of sediment data.

Learning outcome

The course is offered in English to the students in the second year in the MSc programme Hydropower Development and to siv.ing. students in the study programme Civil and Environmental Engineering. The objective is to give a comprehensive basis for engineers who will be responsible for planning and design of the headworks of water resources projects in rivers loaded with sediments.
