About the course
Course content
The course gives an introduction to German language with emphasis on pronunciation, listening comprehension, oral and written exercises and grammar. It also presents aspects of German culture and society through texts and conversations.
Learning outcome
The students should acquire oral proficiency in German. They should be able to engage in elementary conversations in German, and they should be able to read and write simple texts. The students should also gain some insight in German culture and society. The students should achieve language skills equivalent to level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Learning methods and activities
Teaching (lectures, written and oral exercises, presentations and group work).
Compulsory assignments
- 2 written tests of which 1 must be approved
- Oral test (10 min.)
Recommended previous knowledge
Basic German skills equivalent to level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
