About the course

Course content

In this course students are enabled to develop proficiency in written and spoken German. Students must regularly hand in translations from Norwegian into German.

Learning outcome

The students are enabled to develop their oral and written proficiency in German. The students should achieve language skills equivalent to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, corresponding to the test "Zertifikat C1".

Learning methods and activities

A combination of lectures and group sessions including practical training in the use of German language. Failing one part of the exam entails failing the whole course. Students who fail must sit both parts of the exam again.

Compulsory assignments

  • 1 oral presentation, approx. 10 min.
  • 4 written tests (approx. 3/4 page)
