Course content
The course gives an introduction to modern German culture based on a selection of post-World War II literary works, non-fictional prose, film and/or radio drama. As a result of their work with the selected pensum students will be enabled to strenghten their proficiency in German.
Learning outcome
Students should have acquired sufficient cultural and textual competence to present and analyse various types of cultural expressions and to situate these expressions in a historical context. Students should acquire insight into the correct use of spoken and written German.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, group sessions and written assignments.
Compulsory assignments
- 2 written assignment, each aprox. 800 words
Recommended previous knowledge
Knowledge of German equivalent to that of students who have learned German at Norwegian "videregående skole" (Upper secondary school).
