About the course
Course content
The course provides training in correct use of the German language on a more advanced level than in the first year of German studies. Practical exercises such as translation, oral presentations and essays enables the students to improve their German in terms of grammar, vocabulary, style and pronunciation.
Learning outcome
The students should acquire a good comunicative competence in written and spoken German. Students are expected to be able to use the language adequately and with a high degree of grammatical correctness. The students should achieve language skills equivalent to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, corresponding to the proficiency test "Zertifikat C1".
Learning methods and activities
Lectures/group sessions. Failing one part of the exam entails failing the whole course.
Compulsory assignments
- 2 written assignments of 1-3 pages
- 1 oral presentation, approx. 10 min.
