About the course
Course content
The course gives practical training in the use of German at a high level. By means of exercises in translation, emphasis is given to contrastive aspects of Norwegian/German language.
Learning outcome
Students should acquire an insight into central issues in translation both as a linguistic and a cultural practice. Furthermore, they should achieve good proficiency in German through translations of texts from Norwegian into German.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures/seminars with discussions. Students are expected to actively participate in the lectures by presenting translations. Students follow lectures in the course throughout the master programme, with final examination in their last semester. Students on the 5-year Teacher education programme specializing in German follow the course for one semester only.

- 1st semester: 5 translations
- 3rd semester: 5 translations
- 2nd semester: 5 translations
- 4th semester: 5 translations
Recommended previous knowledge
Bachelor's degree with specialization in German or equivalent approved education.
