About the course

Course content

The main issue in this area of study is what promotes or impedes learning and the development of knowledge in working life. Learning within this setting is understood as context dependent, meaning grounded in different arenas and situations throughout the entire lifecycle. The course will give an introduction to main theoretical and empirical work regarding processes and dimensions of workplace learning. Also, different concepts of learning, knowledge and competence will be presented and discussed. By the use of practical examples, regarding for example learning and change in organizations, implications for work with competence development and learning in the workplace is discussed.

Learning outcome

The students shall acquire knowledge on the conditions and organization in connection with learning and change processes in working life.
