About the course
Course content
This area of study will provide an overview of key terms and models linked to planning and implementation of education for adults. Emphasis will be placed on showing how the individual, societal and cultural experiences and belongingness to different adult groups result in differences in learning attitudes, which in turn impact choices and the design of learning objectives and learning activities. Attention will also be paid to developing good learning environments and adapted teaching for adults with different needs. Challenges facing the teacher role in the encounter with adult students will be illuminated.
Learning outcome
Through these studies the students shall acquire knowledge on what is typical of adults in learning situations, understanding of conditions that affect adult learning, and insight into planning, implementation and assessment of learning situations for adults.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, seminars and term paper.
Written term paper of 8-10 pages of text. The theme for the paper must have been approved prior to submission.
